About

I’m Nils Wilbert, a product and advertising photographer based in Berlin. I photograph products for brands, companies and agencies – from cosmetics and beauty to food and drinks, technology, jewellery, eyewear and other products. The images are made for online shops, campaigns, social media and print. Depending on the project, I work from an existing concept or develop the visual idea with you. I handle photography, lighting and retouching, and plan styling and set building around the brief.

How I work

From the first conversation to the final image files, we clarify what the images are for and how they should be made.

01

Define the brief.

We discuss the products, visual style, number of images, intended uses and timing. I then prepare a quote for the planned production.

02

Work directly together.

From the first enquiry to delivery, you speak directly with me. We can discuss image selection and open questions without extra steps.

03

Photograph for the intended use.

An online shop image calls for different framing and detail than a campaign image. I consider the required formats while planning the shoot.

04

Shoot and retouch.

I photograph the images and retouch the selected photographs. We align lighting, background and styling with the product and the agreed visual direction.

05

Deliver the files.

You receive the final images in the agreed formats and on the agreed date.

FAQ

Answers to common questions about planning, production and delivery.

What kinds of products do you photograph?

I photograph products across different fields: cosmetics and beauty, food and drinks, technology, jewellery, eyewear, lifestyle and other products. The product, visual direction and intended use of the images shape each shoot.

Can I send products to the studio?

Yes. You can send products to my Berlin studio or bring them by arrangement. We agree on return shipping and costs in advance.

What does working together look like?

After your enquiry, I clarify the essentials with you: the purpose of the images, where they will be used, the visual style, scope and schedule. From there, I create a clear process from preparation and shooting through to the final files. Depending on the project, I work from an existing concept or develop the visual idea with you.

Do you offer retouching and post-production?

Yes. I retouch the selected images and prepare the final files for their agreed uses.

How long does production take?

That depends on the number of products and images, as well as the work needed for styling, set building and retouching. After the brief, I can give you a realistic schedule.

Where is the studio?

My studio is in Berlin Wedding at Genter Straße 67 a. Products can arrive by post or direct delivery, and personal appointments are possible by arrangement.

Do you only work in Berlin?

No. My studio is in Berlin, and you can also send products to me. If an on-location shoot makes sense, we can discuss what is possible for your project.

What information do you need before a project starts?

For an initial assessment, I need information about the product, the number of products and images, their intended use, any brand guidelines and your preferred schedule. References or visual examples are helpful but not essential.

What does product photography cost?

Pricing depends on the scope, preparation, retouching and intended use. Once I know your project, I prepare a quote covering the agreed work.

Product photography and still life from Berlin

For online shops, I photograph products so their shape, materials and details are easy to see. Still lifes and campaign images also draw on set design, lighting and a visual idea. We agree on the images needed before production.

When a project needs several images, I plan the series with individual products, group compositions and details. I consider formats and crops during the shoot so the images work where they are intended to appear.

The shoot can take place at my studio in Berlin. Products can be sent there, and we can discuss shooting on location if the project calls for it.
